Independent clinician consultant · Health technology

Health technology, designed for real care.

I help health tech companies building products for clinicians find clinical and adoption risks early, before they become expensive rebuilds, failed implementations or stalled scale-up. My perspective comes from frontline work in emergency and surgical care, private and specialty clinics, and long-term care, alongside the physicians and care teams who use these tools every day.

Who I work with

For teams putting technology in clinicians' hands.

If clinicians have to adopt your product for it to succeed, a clinical perspective early on costs far less than fixing problems after launch.

Products

EMRs, AI scribes, clinical decision support and other clinician-facing tools.

Settings

Hospitals, emergency departments, private and specialty clinics, and long-term care.

Moments

Before a pilot, when adoption stalls, and before scaling to new sites.

Ways to work together

Focused support, matched to the decision in front of you.

Start with a defined question, evaluate a workflow, decide where a product should go next, or add clinical perspective throughout a product or implementation cycle.

01 / Working session

Focused Clinical Consultation

A working session on a specific product, workflow or implementation question, grounded in frontline practice.

Includes a 60-minute discussion and a concise written summary.

02 / Fixed scope

Clinical Workflow & Adoption Review

A fixed-scope evaluation of where clinicians will struggle to adopt your product, and why, with practical recommendations to fix it.

Typically 7 to 10 business days. Executive summary, workflow map, ranked findings, recommendations and a 60-minute live readout.

03 / Direction

Clinical Product Strategy

When a product will not be adopted as designed, a focused engagement to decide what to keep (the technology, the setting or the problem) and where to go next.

Typically 2 to 3 weeks. Fit and problem map, options for each direction, a recommendation and a live readout.

04 / Ongoing

Fractional Clinical Advisory

Ongoing, flexible input for teams making product, research, education and implementation decisions, without a full-time hire.

Monthly support may include product feedback, user research, clinical messaging, education and adoption decisions.

Why it matters

Catch clinical and adoption risks early, before they get expensive.

Gaps between product design and clinical practice don't stay small. Left alone, they turn into rebuilds, failed implementations and pilots that never convert.

Protect pilot conversions

Fix adoption problems before the pilot decision, not after the contract is lost.

Build what clinicians will use

Know which features fit real workflows before engineering time is spent.

Smoother implementation

Find workflow conflicts before go-live, not from support tickets.

A stronger sales story

Clinical evidence and frontline language that health system buyers trust.

Sample work

See what a Review looks like.

A full sample Review of a fictional AI triage documentation tool. Its pilot started strong, then usage fell week after week. The Review shows why, and what would recover it before the pilot decision.

  • Executive summary with the business stakes
  • Workflow map: how the product assumes triage runs, next to a real shift
  • Ranked findings matrix by clinical risk and adoption impact
  • A 90-day recovery plan, adoption plan and metrics
  • A strategy preview: keep the tech, keep the setting, or keep the problem

Relevant experience

Built from frontline practice and experience translating it.

I bring eight years of registered nursing experience across emergency, surgical and private clinic settings, including work across four hospitals in two provinces. My surgical work includes day surgery and post-anesthetic recovery, and I currently work in a fertility clinic operating room. I work daily alongside emergency physicians and the wider care team, so I see how clinical tools land for everyone who touches them. Earlier long-term care experience as a nurse's aide adds perspective on care environments beyond the hospital.

My work has also included translating clinical research into patient-facing digital education, contributing to website navigation and user experience, and teaching college-level anatomy to diverse learners.

Systems experience: Cerner, Meditech, Fertility Pro and JaneApp

Workflow improvement
Designed and piloted a standardized patient-assignment workflow in a rural emergency department; it was adopted as unit policy.
Digital health
At Integra Medical, translated clinical research into patient-facing education and contributed to website navigation and UX.
Clinical education
Taught human anatomy at Fanshawe College and adapted complex content for multiple cohorts, including ESL learners.
Specialty clinics
Hands-on experience in medical aesthetics and fertility care. Built an independent aesthetics client base with digital intake, consultation and documentation workflows.

Start with a complimentary 20-minute introduction to see whether a focused engagement makes sense. Work is remote for Canadian and U.S. teams, NDA-friendly, and does not require access to PHI. Engagements can be fixed-scope or ongoing, with fees confirmed during scoping. Proposals and invoices are available in CAD or USD.
